One of my closest friends Paula & Jeff are due any day and we could not be happier for them! I had the privilege of shooting their maternity session for them, and this was probably the most nervous I’d ever been for a shoot. Much more nervous than the first wedding I ever shot! The end result though was nothing short of fabulous, and not because I think I take the bestest photos ever, but because Paula messaged me to tell me that “I love love love love them”. That’s all that truly matter’s to me. You two are amazing people and we are truly honored to be such close friends with you and love you both.

A common question I get asked in all my consults with clients is “what is this same day slideshow you have listed here?”  I love it when I get asked this question. Simply, it is a chance to allow the bride and groom a glimpse into their big day as though they were guests at their own wedding.  A chance to breathe for 5 minutes while the focus is not on you.  An intimate and voyeuristic look into your day as seen by your guests and a chance for you to step outside your body and experience your details from the outside looking in.

While the dinner reception is taking place and the guests are enjoying the feast laid out before them, I sneak away and quickly edit a select number of photos and quickly put together a slideshow for the bride and groom. I choose the best photos that I see in that moment as time is short and I want to be sure that I’m ready to present this to the bride and groom.

Sadly, most guests don’t have the privilege of seeing the photos after the day.  An opportunity not to be wasted, by presenting the same-day slideshow, this allows the wedding guests a chance to see the photos of the happy couple on their day.  A chance for them to live vicariously through the happy couple for one day.

Just a sneak peak from Christine and Stuart’s engagement session a little while ago.  We found our way over to Elbow Falls and had the entire area to ourselves.  Nothing like peace, tranquility, privacy and the sound of the rushing falls to add to the beauty that was their engagement session.  I’m very excited for your wedding next year!  Believe it or not, I’ve already got some great ideas in my head!
