Personality Inspired Wedding Photography for Lovers
For about 1 hour last week, I was the tallest person in Calgary. This is the view from the very top of new Bow Tower being constructed in Calgary. To be exact, its the view from the top of the crane that sits on the roof of the The Bow. Approximately 300m above ground. Swaying with the wind. Sweaty Palm inducing.

Eden and Dan. Love. The Ranche. Before I get into the details of the blog I need to say this first: I really freaking love these two! Ok. Next. Everything about their wedding went off without a hitch. I know Dan through a mutual friend of ours and although I don’t know him extremely well, seeing him with Eden on their wedding day showed me a different Dan than I had ever seen before. He seemed nervous and calm all at the same time. Every other time I’ve spent any amount of time with him, he was always the laid back, chill, drinkabeer and crackaoneliner type of guy that would have the room he was in laughing in complete stitches. Today, he was different. He still cracked a few jokes, but mostly he seemed ‘ready’. Today was the day he married the love of his life and would begin a new chapter in his life with the beautiful and equally intelligent Eden. Eden was calm when I showed up to her house. She was all smiles, glowing and anxious to get to the fun part of the day. When brides get this excited, it makes me that much more excited for them. She was the most beautiful bride. She knew what the day was all about and even the last minute wrinkles to her elegant Vera Wang gown didn’t even manage to throw her off.
Watching you two move together throughout the day was amazing. Dan made sure never to leave Eden’s side. Eden made sure never to leave Dan’s side. They were picture perfect. I’m incredibly happy for you two and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish off my 2010 wedding season photographing the wedding of friends. Thank-you for letting me be there for you. I wish you two all the love and happiness in the world.
Eden & Dan’s wedding also marks the last wedding of 2010 for me. It’s been an amazing year with 17 beautiful and amazing couples gracing the pages of my blog and website. Thank you to all of you. You are the reason I do what I do and love what I do. I couldn’t ask for a better “job” in the world than this.

Recently I was invited to join an amazing network of international wedding photographers on Cake & Pictures. To be included as part of this group is a crazy-rad and most definitely a humbling honor and something that I’m extremely thrilled about. Yeah, I know, I didn’t win the title of World’s Awesomest Wedding Photographer but that’s not gonna stop me from being stoked about it. I’m not the type to name drop but to see my name next to some of our industry’s most creative and respected photographers means a lot to me, and ultimately, tells me that, hey, I guess I’m doing something right!
I’m not all for accolades and high-fives as ultimately my goal is to do my best to please my amazing clients; but I can’t help but turn a shade of awesome-red. So thank-you to Cake & Pictures for allowing me to be part of your network!

Ok pphhhheeww! I’m back to blogging again. I was on hiatus for almost a week as I was working on resolving email issues as well as finalizing some beeeeeautiful album designs.
For this enagement session we went out to a quiet suburban forest occupied only by coyotes and parents with little kids on bikes. I’ve never seen Dave smile like this. This is a man that is happy in its purest sense of the word. During the session it seemed everything he said made her smile. She feels comforted in his arms and warmth in his smile. I’m looking forward to your wedding next year!
