Monthly Archives: November 2010

And the Winner is….

Charities across the country!  You all made this one of the most impossible tasks that I’ve ever ever ever had to take on and which is why it took me so long to choose a fantastic charity.  And you know what was even more awesome was that there was no replication of charities that were submitted.  Each and every single entry was unique!  At times, I felt as though I should just divide up the money and donate to all of the charities submitted, but alas, that wasn’t part of the rules of the game and I’ve been forced to make a crazy difficult choice.  Who knew giving away money would be so tough!   So it is with extreme happiness that through our panel of expert judges (4 of us in total) we narrowed it down to 3. Then 2. Then 1.  Congratulations to the lucky couple who gave me reason to donate to Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue Shelter!  Heaven Can Wait provides shelter, care and nourishment to abandoned, abused and homeless domestic animals. This includes altering of the animals, providing vaccinations and tattoo addition to identification and treatment of any other health issues.

I’ll be in touch with each and every one of the entrants to thank-you for the time you took to write in and for the enthusiasm with which you gave.  I’ve learned plenty of wonderful new things and learned about many new amazing organizations in our that I would love to contribute to one day.

I’ve been told that blog posts are always more appealing when there’s something visual and not just blah blah blah, so here you go…a wedding that I played 2nd shooter to for the talented Brittany Esther

The Sheane Family: a sneak peek

A single image of the Sheane Family.  A telltale image that I’m absolutely loving.  It’s fun, real, raw, dynamic and has such a simple, but lively story about it.

And please don’t forget about my contest.  I’m giving away a free photo session! Contest ends in just 2 days!

Jeanette & Chris (and Onchu)

Onchu scares the crap outta me.  When he runs, there’s no stopping him.  It’s the sound of a horse coming straight at you at 100mph and one of two things is gonna happen. He’s gonna blow through your knees.  Or he’ll just narrowly miss you creating a potential for wet-pants.  But we still get along…we’re cool like that.   Jeanette & Chris, they don’t scare me.  They inspire me.  They are so natural around each other that it’s almost poetic.  Nothing is forced.  Nothing is faked.  It’s pretty clear in these images that the honesty in their relationship is real.

And one last shameless plug for my free photography session contest.  I’m donating to the charity of your choice.  All I ask is that you submit your entry to me before midnight on November 20, 2010.

Dhara & Jason: almost a year later

Almost a year later and still obviously in love.  You two are amazing together and it puts a smile on my face to watch you two hold each other, smile, joke and love.  Thank you again for allowing me the pleasure of capturing the beauty of your relationship as it approaches the 1 year mark.

And I’m not leaving this post without another plug for my photography contest for a free session with me.  Just help me pick a charity to donate to.  That’s all you gotta do!
